View looking North East from the Astra cinema in grid D6. The former sports field and 'A' Sqd parade ground are surrounded by huts.
The then recently completed married airmens quarters are in the distance. Photographed in 1950 or 1951.
 
Thanks to Grenville Williams 3122758 for this photograph, one of approx. twenty he has supplied.
Grenville was Flight Commander of 10 Flt, 'C' Sqd, 2 Wing, from 16 March 1950 to the end of his National Service in September 1951.
He was also responsible for fire safety and was sometimes the unofficial Photographer of special events at the Station.
