Hello Lionel,

There are no plansfor a repeat performance in 2014 as far as the organisers are aware, but we shall keep you up to date on any plans that we become aware of. Thanks for your continuing interest.

Re: Unusual multi tool

I go along with the notion if it being an escape tool, but if you needed to use it as an axe then you would have difficulty holding it in your hand, likewise if you used the saw there is no safe way of holding the axe head.JPW4

Happy Birthday

I hope I haven't mis-heard the news that the website is ten years old this month. If I'm correct would others be pleased to join me in wishing it a thriving future. Three cheers for Gwynne who provides such a good service and who looks after us so well.

Best wishes

Re: Service sayings

Many months ago, I started a topic about serice sayings that had amazing response from those who either read the pages or contributed to the topic. I wonder if the topic can be revived with many more comments just waiting to be aired by all you 'gen kiddies' . JPW4

Re: Bridgnorth Reunion's [ Reflections]

I think it worth noting that when a re-union was arranged to take place at Telford, there was a bit of a backlash when people felt that the choice of venue, viz, Telford, was one that couldn't get full support. A meeting at Cosford may have the same reaction- wrong place ! Our affinity is with the t...

Re: Sgt O'Sullivan

Whilst trawling through the Forum I came across your appeal for information. There are web sites that can help trace military records. One such site is 'Genes Reunited', whilst another is 'Forces Reunited' You may also find some specialist magazines that give the names of helpful sources in the clas...

Lost friend

I'm not sure if I've made this appeal before, on behalf of John Gibbins who lost touch with
Brian Orton who came from a village in the Surrey area. Should you recognise the name would you please let me know and we can link with John. Many thanks,JPW4

Re: bridgnorth 2013

Here's the latest news Mal and it's only a day old. I will try to inform others with a personal approach but this may not always be possible. So, please take note and bear with me. Braving the snow showers I travelled to Bridgnorth courtesy of a good neighbour to attend a meeting with several counci...

Hot foot recruit

This tale was related to me by Patrick McGarry who was one of the last to leave Bridgnorth. He recalls being among Flt.19, 'B' Sqdn Hut 155 at the ceremony of the Keys on 7th Feb1963 and his passing out on the 8th Feb. Snow was on the ground. He remembers big white mug and irons and the stuff they pu...

Re: bridgnorth 2013

Hello Ted Leicester. We haven't 'spoken'before, but just let me put you in the picture. This will also serve as a summary of progress since the Autumn when I put out a feeler on the Forum to see what reaction it would bring. What staarted out as a simple affair in my mind grew as more vets read about...
