Picture from March 1948

Thanks to Edward Gill 3113437 for this photograph from March 1948.

Edward says "Unfortunately, I cannot identify the Hut or Flight No. or any of the airmen on the photograph except myself - 2nd from right or 14th from left, 2nd row up and Ian Coghill who is 3rd row up and 4th from left.
The chap 2nd from left in the back row was called Ted; I don't remember his surname, but he came from London and lived in the Black Prince Pub in Walworth where his father was the Landlord. I went home with him one weekend and had a very good time with his family and customers in the pub.
The bod on the end of the 2nd row down came from Birmingham. He was mad on opera and everyone called him 'Dante'.
The very tanned chap, 5th from right on 2nd row up came from Worcester. I don't remember his name but everyone called him 'Worcester'.
It is quite a good photograph and might be of interest to someone. I am afraid we are all pretty old now; I am 83 and quite a few may no longer be with us.
I joined the RAF at Padgate on 15th March 1948 (65 years ago today) and after a week was sent to Bridgnorth for three months Basic Training. I left Bridgnorth in June 1948 to go to RAF Wythall for training as a Clerk GD. In July of that year I was posted to No.1 School of Photography RAF Wellesbourne Mountford where I stayed until my discharge from the RAF on 9th January 1950."
