Picture from Sept - Oct 1950

Thanks to Sid Oliver 3508109 for this photograph taken Sept - Oct 1950.
Sid says "I can not remember the details such as Flight etc. I enlisted at RAF Cardington on 18th September 1950 when I travelled with four other blokes from Blackheath railway station after reporting that morning to the recruitment centre in Blackheath, South East London. I guess that I arrived at Bridgnorth around 25th September 1950.
I remember that one of the drill instructors was Cpl Petrie (wearing a beret) and our Sergeant (not in the picture) was Sgt Murphy, known as "Spud" Murphy.
I am in the second row down from the back, second from the right."

David H Chamberlin 4081850 has since identified himself as being on the photograph.
David says "I am in this photo - top row. Last on the right. Could I correct the date on this photo? It is actually Sept 1951!
I well remember those pictured and Corporal Petrie and Sgt Murphy"

Comment by Webmaster - Both Sid and David have their Service records that show they joined in 1950 and 1951 respectively.
Yet they are both on this same photograph! Hopefully others on the photograph will step forward to resolve the mystery.
