Picture of some members of 'B' Sqd in March / April 1951

Thanks to Brian Lewis 4063240, for this photograph of some members of 'B' Sqd in March / April 1951.
Brian remembers the D.I. was Cpl Slater and the reveille tanoy tune was 'Mockin' Bird Hill' by Les Paul and Mary Ford.

He continues "I am also pretty sure there was a Boulton Paul Defiant aircraft, painted night black, either as a Gate Guardian or on the drill square or there about.
The weather was freezing most of March 1951 and the worst thing I can remember was taking off your kit after PT and trying to get back in your working blue. Especially trying to get your collar stud in, with the D.I. bawling his head off to get on parade again. It seems funny how those eight weeks of square bashing stay in one's mind after so many years.
I can also recall that we had no tall, tin wardrobe. So Best Blue and Great coats were hung on the side of the hut (see photo) The beds were of an early design but once the three biscuits were in place, it was quite comfortable with no chance of a lie in."

We have tried to decipher the signatures, shown below, so that the site Search Engine can read them.

T.W Lodge,  G.E Mallinson,  Eric Newton,  K Ryder,  R Lilley,  Laurie Lane,  J Payne,  F.P Nelson,
E.W Ridley,  F.E Pidd,  J.A Kinestone,  Leyland,  R Pugh,  B Knight,  G.D Morrison,  D Powell,  Cpl Slater.
