Thanks to John Allison 4089278, for this photograph of Hut 36, 3 Flt, 1 Wing, 'A' Sqd in Jan 1952.
John is first on the left, on the front row. John Chapman from Norfolk, who was first on the left on the back row, sadly died in 2006. The D.I. was Cpl Kimber or Cpl Murchill.
John says that "he joined the RAF on 8 Jan 1952 at Cardington. Went to Bridgnorth on 15 Jan 1952 for eight weeks square bashing. After Bridgnorth, I went on to Weeton, Detling, Coltishall and Kenley as a M.T. Driver Mechanic (Heavy) I was a 5 year man."
Since this photograph was posted, Michael Rackham 4089235 has been in contact and confirmed he is far right on the back row.
