Picture of 13 Flt 'B' Sqd on 4 July 1959

Thanks to Mike Hyde 5070062, for this photograph of 13 Flt 'B' Sqd on 4 July 1959.

Martin Hall 4252845 has identified himself on the photograph, which he suggests was a complete Intake group.
He says "I appear seventh from the right at the back row. I don't doubt that 13 Flt is in this, but so is 14!
A flight was usually two billets of men 19 to a hut, during drill instruction, more than twenty men would have been
difficult to instruct by one corporal, so there was a corporal to each hut and usually two huts to each flight.
The number of flights to a squadron would depend of the RAF's recruitment success and the number of National Service men conscripted.
