Light fun   Bull night
Bob says "the skinny chap with the fire extinguisher, far left in photo, thought it would be a great idea to scrape the black paint off the tops of the extinguishers and polish the brass. The DI went mad and made him polish them every night, but the Officer I/C thought it wonderful on inspection which tipped the points and we got a 48 pass through it.   Bob remembers one Bull night in particular "you notice we are rather black, especially the one on the right. The reason for this is he was blackening the stove with this black paint /polish stuff they gave you and he was at the top of the stove pipe and he slipped, dropped the tin and the paint went all over the floor. We spent 4 hours getting it off hence us all being covered in the black stuff. Every night after that we had to polish the area to get it to look the same as the rest of the floor because it looked different"

The 303   Dave Drew
That's me looking cool with the Enfield .303 Rifle   Bob remembers that "Dave Drew, the one standing on the right, was my best mate there and unfortunately contacted TB and was shipped to hospital and never saw him again until I was sent to RAF Halton Hospital to have tests done to see if I had contacted it from him."
